Aurora — Privacy Policy

Last Updated: June 1, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Aurora ("we", "us", or "the app"), developed by Stardust, handles your information. Aurora is an alarm and wake-up app available on Google Play (package name: com.stardust.aurora).

Aurora is designed to be privacy-first: the core of your data stays on your device. By using Aurora, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Aurora operates primarily on your device and is built to minimize data collection.

Data You Create (stored locally): Your alarm schedules, habits, mission preferences, and wake-up analytics are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to our servers.

Camera: Some wake-up missions (for example, photo, barcode/QR, and object-scan missions) require camera access. Camera frames are processed on-device in real time and are never stored or transmitted.

Motion Sensors: Shake and squat/exercise missions use your device's accelerometer and gyroscope. This sensor data is processed on-device in real time and is not stored or transmitted.

Location: The optional "Sunrise Wake" feature requests a one-time location fix to calculate local sunrise times. Location is used only for that calculation, is processed on-device, and is not stored on our servers or shared.

Purchase Information: If you buy a premium upgrade, the transaction is processed by Google Play and our payments partner RevenueCat. We receive an anonymous purchase status (whether you own premium) but never your full payment card details.

Diagnostics: We may collect anonymous crash reports and basic diagnostic data to improve app stability.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above solely to:
• Trigger and manage your alarms, timers, and habits
• Run wake-up missions (Math, Memory, Typing, Squats, Shake, Photo, Barcode, Object scan)
• Calculate sunrise times for the Sunrise Wake feature
• Display your personal wake-up analytics
• Process and validate premium purchases
• Diagnose crashes and improve reliability

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data, and we do not use your data for advertising.

4. Device Permissions

Aurora requests only the permissions needed for its features. You can revoke any permission in your device settings at any time, though some features may stop working.

Alarms & Reminders / Exact Alarm: To schedule alarms that fire at the exact set time.
Notifications: To display alarms, reminders, and ongoing alarm controls.
Camera: For camera-based wake-up missions.
Body Sensors / Physical Activity: For shake and exercise missions.
Location (approximate/precise): For the optional Sunrise Wake feature only.
Display over other apps / Full-screen intent: To show the alarm screen when your device is locked.
Run at startup / Ignore battery optimizations: To ensure alarms still fire after a reboot or in battery-saver mode.

5. Data Sharing & Third-Party Services

We share data only with the third-party services required to operate the app, each governed by its own privacy policy:

Google Play Services — app distribution and in-app purchases. (Policy)
RevenueCat — manages and validates in-app purchase entitlements. (Policy)
Firebase Crashlytics — anonymous crash reporting to improve stability. (Policy)

We do not share your personal data with any other third parties.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Because your alarms, habits, and analytics are stored locally on your device, you remain in control of that data at all times.

Delete in-app: You can delete individual alarms, habits, and history within the app.
Delete everything: Uninstalling Aurora removes all locally stored data from your device.
Purchase records: Purchase history is retained by Google Play and RevenueCat according to their own policies.

To request deletion of any diagnostic data associated with you, contact us at the email below.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect the information stored on your device. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

Aurora is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you within the app. Continued use of Aurora after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
